‘Geography is concerned with the study of place, the processes (human and physical) that shape them and the people who live in them’.
As technology continues to ‘shrink’ our World, bringing people and places ever closer to home it is increasingly important that we understand our place in the World.
Pupils will be challenged to see the BIGGER picture and think synoptically whilst acquiring geographical knowledge and understanding. By the end of KS3 an Abraham Darby Geographer should be aware that, as a global citizen he/she has a duty of care to ensure that: >The global effects of any local actions taken are carefully considered >Global access to resources is as equitable as possible >Resources are used and managed in a sustainable way >Economic benefit is not achieved at the expense of the environment. >Physical processes are responsible for shaping our planet. > Human processes are responsible for the way we live our lives.
